BALLET

Welcome to our Connectivity Ballet Program!

At CDL, we blend traditional ballet with innovative ideas to introduce children to the enchanting world of dance. Our classes provide young dancers with a solid foundation in ballet technique and strong knowledge of terminology.

Students will enjoy learning to point and flex their feet, bend and stretch their knees, execute jumps, and maintain strong posture.

Our curriculum incorporates the Laban creative concepts, fostering technical proficiency, artistic expression, and self-confidence. Following the EBS Junior Grades and Foundations and the Royal Academy of Dance syllabi, we ensure a structured and comprehensive learning experience.

Join us at CDL, where every child can discover the joy of dance in a nurturing and inspiring environment.

BALLET FOUNDATIONS

CDL Ballet Foundations are designed as non-competitive classes that focus on the essential elements of ballet. Participants will learn about floor patterns and become familiar with basic ballet terminology, which will serve as the foundation for their future training. Key skills such as pointing and flexing the feet, bending and stretching the knees, jumping, and maintaining strong posture are among the core components taught. Additionally, Laban creative concepts and basic body movements are incorporated to enhance their learning experience.

The classes emphasize a structured yet enjoyable approach, allowing students to develop their skills progressively. Each session is crafted to ensure that children not only learn but also find joy in their practice. Furthermore, students have the distinct opportunity to take part in ballet exams, where they can showcase their acquired skills and gain formal recognition for their efforts and dedication. These exams serve not only to confirm their advancement but also act as a source of motivation, inspiring students to strive for greater levels of expertise in the genre.

COMPETITIVE BALLET

Competitive Ballet is an advanced course designed to enhance the skills developed in Ballet Foundations, with an emphasis on transitioning from studio practice to stage performance.

To join, participants must be currently enrolled in a full-year Ballet Foundations class.

PRE-POINTE

Connectivity Pointe Classes delve into the essential aspects of ballet en pointe, providing a solid foundation for dancers.

Pre-Pointe is specifically designed to enhance strength and technique, offering crucial support for dancers as they prepare to transition to pointe shoes. This class is a required step in the preparation process, ensuring that dancers develop the necessary skills and physical readiness for the demands of pointe work.

To enroll in Pre-Pointe, dancers must also be participating in a Ballet Foundations or Jazz Foundations class.

Connectivity Dance

Our Mission is to give students of all ages and abilities a love of the art, knowledge of the technique, commitment, self-discipline and memories that will last a lifetime. We strive to provide professional dance training that is developmentally and physically appropriate for students ages two through adult in a positive learning environment.
