Competition Program
Our goal at CDL is that all dancers have a positive learning experience from competitions, gain performance skills and always do their own personal best. Below are some details to assist you in making an informed decision about your child’s competitive dance experience this upcoming year.
Competitive classes are offered in the genres of Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Modern, Hip Hop, Breaking, Musical Theatre and Acro.
Classes will compete in a minimum 3 local competitions or festivals per dance season and perform in our Year End Showcase - Together We Dance.
Select classes, solos and duets may also participate at the Leduc County Dance Challenge hosted by the Leduc Dance Collective, the Maclab Wednesday Series and the ADEA Dance Spectacular.
To ensure our dancers are developing to a Pre-Professional standard, competing dancers are required to enrol in additional classes and training intensives throughout the season.
To maintain consistent and progressing technique that excels within the local dance community, dancers in competitive programming are expected to prepare for examination in foundations classes where technical exams are offered.
Commitment to required classes is essential for achievement of training goals, long term growth and confidence on stage.
A minimum of 80 % attendance is required for competition particpation.
Dancers registered in a Competitive Program will benefit from attending our various intensives throughout the season.
Dancers wanting to compete in the 2026/27 dance season are recommended to register in a minimum of 1 full CDL Summer of Dance Intensive or equivalent Level-Up sessions.

Competition Entry Fees are in addition to class tuition and are due by December 15th, 2025.
